Hello from the headquarters of Savory Spice Shop, Denver, CO. I am Craig Van Laanen, owner of the Savory Spice Shop in Birkdale Village, Huntersville, NC. We are located at 16926 Birkdale Commons Parkway. We are scheduled to open late November. My team and I have been in Denver working with the Savory family for the past few weeks, preparing inventory for the shop and gaining a great deal of product knowledge. Personally I have had the time of my life and seeing my dream of being a spice merchant/owner come true is very rewarding.
I was very fortunate to have a large part of my team in Denver where we soon became friends and family not to mention covered in spices from head to toe! Cathie Groesbeck, Assistant Manager, is a graduate of Johnson & Wales and will bring to the position her culinary experience and love for cooking and teaching. Laura TerBeek will bring her sales and marketing experience along with her great enthusiasm and upbeat spirit to the team. Team member and spice merchant, Harold Edminston, is such a positive influence to others and we truly appreciated him keeping us on track in Denver. Their hard work was very much appreciated!
We are looking forward to sharing our knowledge of the 400 spices, 140 blends, extracts, merchandise and much more the shop offers. In addition to the spices and blends, we offer great recipe ideas and a variety of holiday sets which make perfect gifts for family, friends, clients and employees. Prior to the opening, look for us at our Birkdale Village storefront the weekends of November 5th and 6th/12th and 13th. You will have the opportunity to win a variety of gift sets that include items from turkey rubs to cocoa mixes as well as free samples of our products .
